Bishop Robert’s visit

Bishop Robert, and his wife Helen, visited St Mark’s Church in Florence
over the weekend of 13th -14th April.
He is the Anglican Bishop in Europe; the largest of the 42 dioceses
in the Church of England.

The Diocese has over 250 congregations in 140 Chaplaincies
over 30 countries across continental Europe, Turkey, Morocco and Russia!

The Chaplaincy Council and others, met with the Bishop and his wife
over a light tea on Saturday afternoon.
It was a chance to listen to, and talk with the Bishop, and for him to see
what we are doing here at St Mark’s and Holy Cross Bologna.
On Sunday the Bishop led the Choral Eucharist service,
which also incorporated the confirmation of Ellie .

It was a joyous occasion, shared by some of our Bologna family
(thanks for coming on the very early train),
many friends, and visiting tourists who joined us on the day.
We had Jim lead the choir for his first time with us,
and we sang wonderful hymns, led by our choir, helping us all to worship.

After the service we had our Bring'-and-Share lunch
(thanks to everyone who brought food to share),
and people were still here, sitting and chatting at gone 4pm!

Why not join us next Sunday, The Bishop won’t be with us in person,
but WE are always here, every Sunday at 10.30.

YOU would be very welcome.

Our thanks go to Bishop Robert
and Helen for being with us.
